School's out for summer!

Mommy's first day of summer vacation was last Wednesday (the 12th) and boy has she kept us busy since!

On her first day home we went to Paint Some Pottery and made our Father's Day present and got some ice cream.

Then on our first day of summer as a whole family we went back to the Philly Zoo! It was a gorgeous day outside - nice and sunny, but not too hot.
Hooray for being back at the zoo!

While we are lunch the boys saw the monkeys that run around in netted tunnels in the trees. They thought that was so cool! They added a KidZooU section and we got to pet goats! Riley was unsure at first, but once he saw Logan pet it like he pets Penguin, he thought he'd give it a try.

We went in the toddler room in KidZooU and the boys really got a kick out of the fake animals.

When we went in the reptile house, Riley was having a full conversation about his favorites, the crocodiles (until I got out the video camera, of course.

Then of course we went to visit the penguin, which Logan loved. We aren't sure if he liked the penguins themselves (although he historically has liked them) or he thought our dog was at the zoo. Either way, mommy's favorite part of the day was when Logan started blowing the penguins kisses.
Waving to the penguins
Here is a video of one of his many penguin kisses:

Thumbs up for zoo ice cream!
Although the boys seemed to enjoy the whole day, I think their favorite exhibit was the big cats. We almost didn't go in because the boys were getting tired, but they perked up as soon as they saw the cheetah.

Did you see that?

They also really liked the pumas. In fact, Riley started talking fairly loudly. What I haven't mentioned is that he has discovered a lot of new sounds and when he says them fast, it sounds like he is speaking another language. In fact, while he was talking to the pumas a lady knelt down next to him and kept repeating "What are you saying?" (but not in the way you say that to babies who are cooing - she said it the way you would speak to an adult or older kid). Riley's puma rant was Daddy's favorite part of the day.

Tigers! Oh my!
After we got home from the zoo, we went to the church festival going on behind our neighborhood. The boys spent a good amount of time playing with our wagon on the grass (although Riley was MAJORLY flirting with a college girl during bingo).

On Saturday and Sunday we visited the Sweeney family and then the Sasso family for Father's Day.

When we were visiting Grandpa Tony we went out to eat at a Mexican restaurant called Sol. The boys ate so much no one at the table (except mom and dad) could believe it. We also got so messy that Mema had to was us in the sink.

On Monday, we went to the Saucon Valley shops and played in the fountain! What a great summer it has been so far! Riley started playing in the water right away, while Logan was more unsure. Once Logan got comfortable, there was no stopping him!
