Riley and Logan had their 4 month dr. appointment yesterday,
although they are actually 4 ½ months. For whatever reason, scheduling
appointments for twins has seemed to be difficult. Anywho, during the
appointment we were given the go ahead to start trying rice cereal, and then
start fruit or veggies 2 weeks after. We need to continue Riley on the
Alimentum formula until he hits 6 months and then we can try switching back to
the sensitive (and then a few weeks later stop the prevacid). Our poor babies
got their next set of vaccines, one in each leg with a one inch needle. Logan
went first and screamed like a banshee. In reaction to Logan, Riley started
screaming before he even got the shots. After the screaming subsided, Riley
took about a half hour nap and was pretty cranky for the next 3 hours (when he
napped again). Logan took an hour and 45
minute nap and woke up cheery and happy. We are very lucky that they seem to
handle getting the vaccines pretty well.
Logan’s measurements:
Length: 24 ½ inches – 10th percentile
Weight: 13 lbs 8 oz – 10th percentile
Head: 16 inches – 15th percentile
Riley’s measurements:
Length: 24 ½ inches – 10th percentile (We could not believe he caught up to Logan!)
Weight: 12 lbs 10 oz – 2nd percentile
Head: 16 3/8 inches – 40th percentile
Our little peanuts are tiny! I know it’s typical for twins,
but it’s weird to have friends who have babies that are 10 lbs at one month, or
15 lbs at 2 months, or were wearing 6-9 and 9-12 month clothing while our guys
were at 0-3 (and are a month younger than our guys)!
